$100,000 bond for Bray Center shooting suspect

Zerell Strong, 20 of Racine has been charged with three counts of 1st Degree Reckless Injury and three counts of felony bail jumping. He was given a $100,000 cash bond after making his initial appearance in Racine Circuit Court on Friday. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 7th.

According to the criminal complaint on March 11, 2016 at 11:51 p.m. Racine Police were dispatch to the Bray Center at 924 Center Street for shots fired with multiple victims. Three victims were transported to hospitals

Officers identified a group of people associated with a Kenosha street gang known as The Montana Boys (DMB). Officers were also able to located a group assocated with a Racine gang known at the “Dirty P’s. Members of the Dirty P’s took offense at the number of members from the DMB that were present at the birthday party. At one point during the evening fights broke out between the gang members inside the center who were present for the party. During the fight, shots were fired and the three victims were struck. Witnesses were able to identify the defendant as the shooter.
