$100,000 bond for man accused of water torture and sexual assault

michael martinez Michael C Martinez, of Racine has been charged with Battery, False Imprisonment and 2nd Degree Sexual Assault/Use of Force. He was given $100,000 cash bond after appearing in Racine Circuit Courts Wednesday afternoon. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 31.

According to the criminal complaint, Racine Police spoke with the victim on August 15th, 2016 who stated that the defendant had been repeatedly texting and calling the victims cell phone while she was at work and eventually called her workplace on August 14th. The defendant told the victim he wanted her to come over after work, she stated that she was going to get something to eat and was unsure if she could stop by, the defendant told her that he had food at his residence.

Upon arrival at the defendants residence the defendant began to accuse her of going to the movies with another guy a year ago while he was incarcerated in jail. The defendant is accused of placing a towel over the victims face and repeatedly pouring water over her face, torturing her, causing the victim to feel like she was drowning. The defendant then is accused of sexually assaulting the victim, according to the complaint
