$100,000 cash bond for suspect charged in Durand Ave raid by Sheriff Dept and D.E.A

nt samuel griffin Samuel L Griffin, 65 of Racine has been charged with Possess w/Intent-Heroin(>50g), Possess w/Intent-Cocaine (>5-15g), Maintain Drug Trafficking Place, Possess Firearm-Convicted of a Felony and Possess Body Armor – Convicted V. Felon. He made his initial appearance in Racine Circuit Courts on Thursday afternoon and was given a $100,000 bond after making his initial appearance Thursday afternoon in court. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 12.

According to the criminal complaint on May 2, 2016 Agents obtained search warrants for the defendants vehicle and home in reference to an on going criminal investigation into Heroin and Cocaine sales. Agents conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle with the defendant in it and recovered 51 grams of heroin and 15 grams of cocaine in the possession of the defendant. Agents executed the 2nd warrant at his residence on Durand Ave. while attempting to enter the residence the defendants girlfriend was trying to hold the door shut. The defendant admitted to having a .357 handgun in the residence. Officers recovered the gun and body armor inside the residence. Based upon prior felony convictions and violent felony conviction of first degree intentional homicide, the defendant is prohibited from possessing a fire arm.

When agents spoke to the defendant he allegedly told them that he had purchased the drugs and was going to prepare them for resale, the complaint states
