Updated-Investigators have concluded their initial interview of Keller Mcquay and he is being apprehended for first degree intentional homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon. Mcquay is being transported to the Racine Juvenile Detention Center.
Investigators conducting surveillance identified a vehicle believed to be occupied by Keller Mcquay. At about 5:53 p.m. traffic stop was initiated in the area of Ninth St. and Villa St. in Racine. Keller was located in the vehicle and transported to the Racine Police Department Detective Bureau without incident.
This investigation remains ongoing – further information will be provided as it becomes available for release.

Original The victim has been identified as Vista Jackson, a 14 year old female, who suffered a single gunshot wound.
Investigators have identified a person of interest as Keller Mcquay, a 14 year old male. Investigators would like to speak with Mcquay regarding this investigation. The public is cautioned not to try and approach Mcquay as it is believed that he may be armed and dangerous. A photo of Mcquay has been provided with this updated release.

On Thursday, September 10, 2015, at about 8:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of Albert St. for a report of a 14 year old girl who was suffering from a gunshot wound. The girl was transported by Racine Fire Rescue to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital where she was taken by Flight for Life to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. Tragically, efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.
Investigators have identified some persons of interest; however, no names are being released at this point in the investigation. This investigation is still unfolding and no further information is being released at this time.
