17 year-old driver succumbed to injuries from June 15th accident in Yorkville

The 17 year old female driver of the Dodge Neon was identified as Taylor Skendziel from Racine County. She was transported by Flight for Life to Froedert Hospital, where she remains in the hospital with life threatening injuries.

The female passengers in the Dodge Neon were identified as Charlee Warner age 15 and Sadie Regep age 15 both from Racine County. Warner was transported to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee with serious injuries and Regep was transported to Wheaton All-Saints Hospital in Racine with minor injuries.

The operator of the Honda Pilot was identified as Samuel Han from Kenosha County. Han was transported to Wheaton All-Saints Hospital in Racine and treated for minor injuries.

The accident continues to be investigated by the Racine County Detective Bureau and the Crash Investigation Team.

On Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at approximately 6 p.m. the Racine County Dispatch Center received multiple 911 calls of a two vehicle accident at the intersection of CTH U and 2 Mile Road in the Town of Yorkville, Racine County.Racine County Sheriff’s Deputies responded as did fire and rescue crews from Union Grove / Yorkville, Raymond, and Wind Lake. The accident involved a 2003 Honda Pilot SUV which was occupied by a 58 year old male driver and a 2003 Dodge Neon 4dr which was occupied by 3 teenaged females.

The driver of the Honda suffered nonlife threatening injuries and the occupants of the Dodge suffered life threatening injuries. The driver of the Dodge had to be extricated and was transported from the scene via Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.The initial investigation shows that the Honda was traveling westbound on 2 Mile Road. The Honda failed to yield the right of way from a stop sign and collided with the Dodge, which was traveling southbound on CTH U and had the right of way. At this time the names of the involved are not being released pending further investigation and the notification of family members.
