17 year-old Milwaukee teen arrested after fleeing from Deputies in a stolen vehicle


police lightsZyterrius Taylor, 17 of Milwaukee has been charged with Take and Drive Vehicle w/o Consent, Vehicle Operator Flee/Elude Officer, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer and numerous traffic offenses. He was given a $10,000 cash bond after making his initial appearance. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 4, 2016.
According to the criminal complaint, on Sunday December 21, 2015, at 7:51 a.m. a Racine County Sheriff’s Deputy was monitoring traffic on I94 and CTH C. The deputy stated that he observed a gold Audi, pass him at an obvious high rate of speed, upon checking with his radar he documented the vehicle traveling at 87 MPH in the posted 70 MPH. When the deputy began to initiate a traffic stop for speeding he observed the driver (identified as the defendant) driving erratically causing another vehicle have to take evasive action and swerve to avoid a crash with the suspect vehicle.

When deputies tried to pull the vehicle over, the suspect vehicle reached speeds of 130 MPH on the Interstate. Additional units from the Racine County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol began assisting in stopping the vehicle and according to the criminal complaint, the defendant moved over to the on ramp of CTH G and pulled over. The length of the pursuit was 2.7 mile and lasted 1 minute and 39 seconds.

According to the complaint, the defendant exited the vehicle without incident and was taken into custody, dispatch notified Deputies that the vehicle had been entered stolen out of Park City Police Department in Illinois. When questioned by Deputies the defendant stated he didn’t know the car was stolen.
