18 year old arrested on drug charges after “things go up in smoke”

handcuffsAn 18 year old Racine man has been charged with Possess w/Intent-THC (<=200 grams). He was expected to make his initial appearance in Racine Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon.

According to the criminal complaint. On March 15,2016. Racine Police responded to the 1400 block of Isabelle for a report of a suspicious vehicle and that the occupants were allegedly using drugs inside. Upon arrival the officer found the vehicle asked for a cover squad since the windows were so foggy he couldn’t see how many occupants were inside. The officer approached the vehicle and stated that there were three occupants inside the vehicle and the inside of the vehicle was filled with a gray smoke and the odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle.

The officer opened the vehicle door and instructed the occupants to put their hands up, as the officer opened the door a cloud of smoke made its way out of the vehicle. Due to the packaging and weight of the THC the 21 year old was arrested and charged, police recovered 3 baggies weighing 3.9 grams and 4 baggies from the defendant weighing 2.8 grams. A cell phone was recovered from the defendant with messages concerning drug transactions. Another passenger was arrested for drug paraphernalia and the third occupant was cited.
