1829 – Isaac Stephenson Born

On this date , Wisconsin politician and businessman, was born in Yorkton, New Brunswick, Canada. Stephenson settled in Marinette, Wisconsin in 1858, where he engaged in the lumber business. Stephenson was a member of the Wisconsin State assembly in 1866 and 1868, and served as founder and president of the Stephenson Banking Company. From 1883 until 1889, Stephenson was a Republican member of Congress. After returning to Marinette and working in the lumber business, Stephenson was elected in 1907 as a . Stephenson served until 1915. Stephenson died in Marinette on March 15, 1918. He is buried in Forest Home Cemetery. [Source: ]
