1912 – Clement John Zablocki Born

On this date was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Zablocki was a member of the state Senate from 1942 to 1948 and chairman of the State Democratic Convention in 1948. He was a delegate to the Democratic National Conventions in 1952, 1956, 1960, 1964, and 1968. Zablocki was an unsuccessful candidate for the office of city controller of Milwaukee in 1948. He was the United States delegate to the fourteenth session of the United States General Assembly in 1959. Zablocki was also a lieutenant colonel in the United States Air Forces Reserve. He was elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-first Congress and served from January 3, 1949, until his death on December 3, 1983 in Washington, D.C. [Source: ]
