1924 – Wisconsin First Lady Patty Brody Reynolds Born

On this date the wife of Wisconsin Governor John Reynolds was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Mrs. Reynolds graduated from the UW with a degree in French and continued with graduate work in the same field. The couple met at a Young Democrats meeting on the UW campus. The first lady taught French at Madison East High School during her husband’s gubernatorial term (1963-1965). She also spent a lot of time modernizing the Governor’s mansion. They had three children.
