1941 – Fine Arts Museum Opens in Racine

On this date the¬†Wustum Museum of Fine Arts opened on Northwestern Avenue in Racine. In 1938, Jennie E. Wustum honored her husband’s memory by donating their house, property and a small trust fund to the City of Racine. She wanted to create an art museum and park that would benefit future generations. Since its founding, the Charles A. Wustum Museum of Fine Arts has developed a national reputation for its collection and exhibitions, as well as its outreach programs and studio art classes.
