1994 – Donald T. McKenna Dies

On this date Donald T. McKenna died. An accomplished golfer, McKenna was a three-time champion at Blackhawk Country Club in the late 1920s and early 1930s. He twice placed in qualifying matches for the U.S. Open as an amateur. After WWII, he helped develop Sunset Village on Madison’s west side. He developed several other communities in Madison including Deer Run Heights between Middleton and Cross Plains. McKenna Boulevard in Westvale is named after him.
