First Fridays Tonight!

firstfridaysRacine WI – First Fridays is a free, fun, monthly event that is a great way to experience all that Downtown Racine has to offer in the evening.

New for 2009, First Fridays will be extended through the end of the year. On the first Friday of each month from April thru December more than 30 Downtown shops, restaurants and galleries offer music, refreshments, prizes and of course, shopping from 5-9 p.m. Guests are entertained both in the stores and on the streets.

Downtown Merchants Bring on the Warm Weather with First Fridays in May!

On Friday, May 1, the line-up of entertainment includes:

  • Pavlik, Stellman & Martin at Jean’s Jazz Oassis on Monument Square
  • Veteran performer Paul Kaye on 6th Street
  • Members of the Kilties Drum and Bugle Corps will be performing throughout Downtown
  • The Magic of Red from Kenosha Magic will be strolling with his illusions throughout 6th and Main

Here are some of the special events being held throughout Downtown:

  • RAM offers FREE admission along with an Free hands-on art event from 4-8 p.m. Guests can also meet Artist Jamie Bennett at 6:30 p.m. and enjoy a free behind-the-scenes exhibition tour and booksigning. At 7:30, enjoy a free concert by Fifth House Ensemble.
  • Fired Up offers a workshop for kids ages 7 and up from 6 – 8:30 p.m. Cost is $20.
  • Northern Light Gallery features new jewelry designs by DaVinci and LaVieParisienne along with the music of 14-year-old Macyn Taylor who will perform from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
  • Dimple’s Imports pesents singer songwriter Katie Lafond.
  • Molly MaGruder features a performance by Jeff Ward.
