Andrew Obregon was given a $250,000 cash bond in a Lake County, Illinois, court on Thursday.
He will face extradition to Wisconsin on Nov. 3, where he is wanted for homicide.
Obregon, 42, was arrested Tuesday in Lake County after law enforcement said he stole a car in Kenosha County and fled south.
Andrew Obregon will face charges in both Illinois and Wisconsin after leading deputies on a chase Tuesday that crossed the state border, authorities said.
Sheriff David Beth said deputies were assisted in the chase by GPS technology, because the car he is accused of stealing in Kenosha County, was equipped with OnStar.
Obregon was shot in the arm during his capture and has been released from the hospital.
A woman checking on her father’s vacant home discovered Obregon inside the house. The Kenosha Sheriff stated that Obregon badly injured her. The woman suffered substantial injuries to her face when Obregon punched her. She is at Froedtert Hospital.
Obregon is a suspect in the homicide last month of Tywon Anderson.
