On September 8th, 2015, a Silver Alert was activated for an 89-year-old West Allis man who left his residence on foot. Less than an hour after the alert was activated a citizen saw the man walking, recognized him from the alert, and called police. The man was recovered safe.
On September 4th, 2015, an 64-year-old woman went missing on foot from her home in Racine. She had recently moved to Wisconsin from Puerto Rico and spoke no English. After the Silver Alert was activated, Racine Police Department received more than 30 phone calls from citizens reporting seeing the woman near Highway K in Racine. Law enforcement was able to narrow down her location and found her safe at a nearby gas station.
On August 27th, 2015, a Silver Alert was activated for an 80-year-old Milwaukee man who was attempting to drive to his daughter’s home in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Earlier in the day the man stopped at a Mequon gas station and appeared confused as he asked for directions to Crystal Lake. Later that evening a woman noticed a car following her. When she pulled into her driveway the other car stopped, the driver got out, and the two began talking. She recognized the driver as the subject of the Silver Alert. She continued speaking with the man to make certain he didn’t leave, during which she called police. The man was recovered safe.
