51 year-old Racine man charged with selling heroin

Ray A Wortham, 51 of Racine has been charged with four counts of Manufacture/Deliver Heroin (3-10g), one count of Maintain Drug Trafficking Place. He was given a $5,000 cash bond after making his initial appearance in Racine Circuit Court.

According to the criminal complaint on four separate occasions in January and February 2016, controlled purchases of heroin were made from the defendant at his residence in the 3100 block of Northwestern Ave. On February 19,2016 the Racine Police Department Special Investigations Unit executed a search warrant at the defendants residence. During the search officers noted a hole drilled in the bedroom floor, directly located beneath the hole was a storage unit assigned to the defendant. Officers recovered a substance in a baggie which weighed 3.4 grams and tested positive for heroin. Also located was a cell phone registered with the same phone number that investigators called to arrange the drug transactions.
