***Dog Days of Summer Adoption Special***
-Adoption fee WAIVED to qualifying applicant-
Ariel is an approx 2.5 yr old (est DOB 02/19/2014) spayed female unknown mixed breed. She is believed to be a Boxer/Terrier mix. Ariel weighs in at 31 lbs and is fully grown. Ariel has been bounced around from rescue to rescue over the past year and has now found herself here at Lucky Mutts Rescue. The other rescues gave up on her and threatened to have her euthanized because of her behavior. Ariel has a tendency to be growly with new people- then warms up quickly. She is easily overwhelmed with too many people around her or when swarmed by several other dogs. When this happens, she goes on the defensive and does do some nipping. She does best with calmer dogs that keep to themselves and don’t pester her. She’d love to be someone’s only dog. Ariel is NOT the type of dog you would bring to busy, chaotic pet stores or street fairs. She is much more comfortable being a home body. Ariel would do best in a home with older or no kids. Although we have not personally cat tested her, we have notes from a previous rescue that she is “okay” with cats.
Ariel kennels up well and is quiet in the crate- especially if you leave the radio on for her. She is crate trained and has not yet had an accident in the house. We believe Ariel has had a lot of upheaval in her short life and therefore becomes a bit overprotective or her people and her home. She would do best being kenneled when people come over and then do slow, calm introductions. Ariel loves to run after her favorite blue ball, but hasn’t yet mastered the retrieving aspect of fetch yet. All in all, Ariel is a sweet medium sized dog looking for the perfect family. We realize her furver home will have to put some time into her to help her reach her maximum potential. As a result, Ariel is part of our “Name Your Own Adoption Fee- $100 Minimum” special. Her adoption fee includes spay, rabies/distemper/bordetella vaccines, microchip, dewormed, heartworm negative and on preventative and health certificate from veterinarian.
