Love makes HANK’s world go ’round, and he’s making sure he gets plenty of it! Approximately three years old, Hank the Border Collie/ Setter mix nuzzles and snuggles you, in the hopes for lots of ear scratches and head rubs. Standoffish and wary of new people, Hank quickly becomes very friendly and affectionate to those who actively care for him. This handsome hugging pro looks adoringly into your eyes and just wants to be close to you. Whatever you’re up to, he wants in! Running, playing, walking, or just lounging-he loves it all- 60-pound Hank is your loyal sidekick and a friend for life. Already house trained and knows how to use a doggie door, Hank gets along with furry companions that aren’t “puppy” in their play style. He isn’t a fan of dogs jumping all over him. Hank is cat friendly. **Hank has been adopted out twice and been returned because he becomes very protective of his people- to the point where he needs to be put away when others come to the house. He does not like new, scary people to reach for him (pet him) so he should go to a child free home since kids don’t always remember to respect his personal space. He will need to be muzzled when taken to the vet.**
Hank is earnestly looking for love, and hoping to find it with you! His ideal family would likely be a middle aged/older person who doesn’t do a ton of entertaining in their home and who won’t feel bad about putting him in a crate or a back room when people do come over to the house. We have our paws crossed that the right family for Hank will find him and that this time he’ll be adopted FUREVER. Hank is being fostered in Racine. Hank’s adoption fee has been sponsored. He is FREE to a qualifying applicant which includes neuter, rabies/distemper/bordetella vaccine, microchip with lifetime registration, heartworm negative and health certificate from vet.
