Cowboy is an approx 2.5 yr old (DOB 09/20/2013) neutered male American Staffordshire Terrier mix weighing in at 42 lbs and is fully grown. Cowboy was adopted from an Oklahoma City based rescue well over a year ago by a man who lives in the Chicago area. His owner ended up getting a promotion at work which meant little to no time for Cowboy any more.
Our friends in Oklahoma reached out to us to see if there was any way we could help transport Cowboy back to OKC. Instead, we offered to have Cowboy transferred to our rescue. Cowboy joined Lucky Mutts Rescue on April 23rd. He is being fostered in Racine. Cowboy is a bit overwhelmed with the changes in his life at this moment. Though his owner was a man, Cowboy is currently a bit growly towards men. and doesn’t like to be? cornered or when a hand or other object is elevated near him. Because of this, we’d suggest he go to a home with older or no children. Cowboy is crate trained, quiet, and housebroken/trustworthy loose in the house. He walks well on a leash and rides well in a car.
All we want is for Cowboy to find a loving FUREVER family. Cowboy is part of our “Name Your Own Adoption Fee- $100 Minimum” which helps us cover vet costs associated with bringing his vaccines UTD and having a vet visit before adoption. The adoption fee includes neuter, rabies/distemper/bordetella vaccines, microchip, dewormed, heartworm negative and on preventative and health certificate from veterinarian.
