Spot is an approx 2.5 yr old (est DOB 02/13/2014) neutered male American Pit Bull Terrier mix weighing in at approx 68 lbs and is fully grown. Spot arrived in WI February 13th, rescued from rural Oklahoma. . Spot and two other dogs were found living on the property of a foreclosed home. They had been there several weeks on their own. The realtor showing the property offered to “dispose of them.” These three dogs have been shot at with BB guns and were forced to seek shelter under the deck at the property until that flooded during the December rain storms. Local animal advocates brought them straw to make a makeshift shelter for them until rescue could be found. As the Oklahoma weather became colder, Spot and the others were rounded up and moved to an outdoor, mostly unsupervised boarding facility in hopes of buying them even more time to locate a rescue. Unfortunately, due to an overpopulation of dogs in the southern states, local Oklahoma rescues were unable to step up and help, so we here in WI did!
He walks well on a leash and is dog and kid friendly. He hasn’t officially been cat tested but he was very interested in a cat in a kennel at the vet office so would likely do better in a cat free home. Spot has displayed behavior consistent with being a moderate energy level dog. He loves to play with his foster siblings but settles down quickly. Spot’s adoption fee is $100+ Tax. His adoption fee includes neuter, rabies/distemper/bordetella vaccines, microchip, dewormed, heartworm negative and on preventative and health certificate from veterinarian.
