Burt is a 6.5 year old (est DOB 5/11/2009), 40 lb neutered male Australian Cattle Dog mix. He arrived in WI November 15th and is fostered in Racine. Burt has sowed (most of) his wild oats, so now he’s mild mannered, sweet, and loving, with a daily goal of as many chin scratches and belly rubs as possible-he loves those! People-centered and polite, Burt gets along with everyone and with other dogs; he’s just a nice guy, everybody loves him! Do you have room in your life for his big smile and his big heart? Burt will shower you with love and be best friends forever.
Burt does have a submissive personality and may do best in a quieter home. He would do best in a home with older or no children due to being skiddish around loud noises/sudden movements and really would make a great dog for a semi-active middle aged or older adult. He is crate trained and almost housebroken. Burt loves spending time outside, loves going for walks, and thinks snow is the neatest thing ever! He does have a bit of separation anxiety manifested by whining in his crate. If you leave an old article of your clothing in his crate it does seem to help significantly.
Burt’s adoption fee has been reduced to $175+tax which includes neuter, rabies/distemper/bordetella vaccines, microchip, dewormed, heartworm negative and on preventative and health certificate from veterinarian.
