Pennie is an approx 1.5 year old (est DOB 03/26/2015) spayed female unknown mixed breed. We believe she is an American Pit Bull Terrier/Border Collie mix (her paperwork lists her as a Border Collie mix) weighing in at 50 lbs and is fully grown. Rescued from a high kill shelter in rural Texas by a loving small town vet, Pennie arrived in WI January 29th and is being fostered in Racine. She is sweet and dog/older kid friendly. Pennie was cat tested and was very interested in the cat but showed no aggression. For the average owner we’d suggest a cat free home as she will likely pester a cat more than most people would find acceptable.
Pennie is crate trained, has not yet had an accident in the house, is quiet in the crate and trustworthy loose in the house. Pennie does need some work on the leash. She walks well on a leash for a while, then gets into these goofy, playful fits where she just wants to roll around on the ground and have her belly rubbed. She can also be mouthy at times during play which is why we feel she’d do best with older kids. We will update her photos and bio as we learn more about her. Pennie’s adoption fee has been sponsored. She is FREE to a qualifying family which includes spay, rabies/distemper/bordetella vaccines, microchip, heartworm negative and on preventative and health certificate from veterinarian.
