On Friday, November 11, 2016, United Way will be hosting a train-themed fundraiser at the Cotton Exchange Restaurant, 345 Hickory Hollow Road, Waterford. 5:30 p.m. – Cash bar, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. – Food stations with wine and beer sampling. All proceeds for the fundraiser will be used to purchase books for preschool children in Racine County through United Way of Racine County’s Imagination Library program. Imagination Library was created in 1996 by famed country-singer Dolly Parton to foster a love of reading. All participating children in Imagination Library receive free, age-appropriate books through the mail each month, from birth to age five.
The evening includes five food station buffets offering a variety of culinary treats guaranteed to please everyone’s taste buds. There will be fajitas, spaghetti and meatballs, sliced turkey and beef, brats, burgers and desserts. Beverage purveyors will have a multitude of different wine and beer selections for sampling. Choices include seasonal selections as well as beverages to compliment your food selection. Lastly, there will be a silent auction and raffles throughout the evening.
Tickets for the event are $50 (no reserved seating) and can be purchased online at www.unitedwayracine.org. Tickets can also be purchased in person with cash or check at The Cotton Exchange, Thrivent Financial in Burlington, or the United Way of Racine County office.
