April 18th-Guardian of the Flame lunch for Special Olympics

Who says theres no such thing as a free lunch? Thats exactly whats happening on Monday, April 18 when Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI) teams up with Texas Roadhouse and local law enforcement for the Guardians of the Flame FREE lunch fundraiser to benefit more than 1,500 local Special Olympics athletes.

Fill your stomach without emptying your wallet! Texas Roadhouse, 6228 Durand Ave, will open its doors from 11a.m. – 2 p.m. to serve meals consisting of a pulled pork sandwich, fries, applesauce and a soda.

Local law enforcement officers, SOWI athletes, and wait staff will team up to serve this free lunch and 100% of the tips will stay locally to help kids and adults with intellectual disabilities. Officers, along with, will also be providing delivery to businesses. You can also call ahead and pick up lunch. Fundraisers like this, ensure that Special Olympics Wisconsin can continue to provide programming in sports, health, education, and community building.

In 2015, the Mt. Pleasant Texas Roadhouse location raised $5,200. A special thank you to Texas Roadhouse and Law Enforcement officers for making this fourth annual event possible.
SOWI provides year-round training and competition opportunities through 18 different Olympic-type sports for nearly 10,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities.
