Bail set at $10,000 for man charged with 10th OWI

Jones Decorah, 57 of the Wisconsin Dells has been charged with OWI (10th or More), Operating While Revoked (Rev due to alc/contr subst/refusal), Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, Bail Jumping-Misdemeanor. He was given a $10,000 cash bond after making his initial appearance in Racine Circuit Court on Thursday afternoon, his preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 20,2015. According to inmate records, he also been placed on a hold from Department of Corrections

According to the criminal complaint, on May 13th at 5:40 am, Sturtevant Police responded to Village Food for a hit and run accident. Officers were given the description of the offending vehicle and discovered that vehicle nearby. Officers subsequently arrested the defendant of that vehicle for his 10th offense OWI, resisting arrest, and for a probation hold.

The complaint states when officers arrived, the vehicle was running, brake lights were on and there was beer in the cup holder. The defendant appeared very confused and disoriented. According to reports the defendant fought with officers and resisted when taken into custody. The defendant was transported to All Saints hospital for medical treatment, where the complaint states that he fought with medical personnel taking a blood sample. Preliminary tests indicated his blood alcohol level was at least .380 at the time he was driving. He was medically observed until his BAC was low enough to transport him to the Racine County Jail.
