James J. Mack, 48 of Caledonia has been charged with Aggravated Battery-Elderly, Robbery with Use of Force, Burglary-Dwelling, Boat or Motor Home, Intimidate Victim/Use or Attempt Force, Possess Firearm-Convicted of a Felony, Criminal Trespass to Dwelling, two counts of Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting or Obstructing an Officer. He is being held on $25,000 cash bond after making his initial appearance in Racine Circuit Court. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 10,2016
According to the criminal complaint, on January 25, 2016 Caledonia Police responded to the 6900 block of Surrey Lane for an assault in progress. Upon arrival officers spoke with the victims who stated that their relative, the defendant, knocked on their front door and asked them for money. The victims states that the defendant was told no and to leave the residence. According to the victim, the defendant became upset, grabbed the victim by the hands, pushing the victim into the living room. Due to the victims fragile skin, when the defendant grabbed the victim, it caused tears and lacerations in the skin.
The victims told the defendant to stop and leave or they were calling police. The defendant took all the phones in the home. A victim fearing for their safety, pulled out a gun case containing a revolver. According to the criminal complaint the victim never displayed the weapon and it was taken by the defendant after a struggle.
The defendant then told the victims he would give the gun back for money. The victims fearing for their safety gave the defendant $60.00.
