Hannah Vitacco, 19 of Caledonia has been charged with Battery to Law Enforcement Officers, Fire Fighters or Commission Wardens, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer. She appeared Tuesday afternoon in Racine Circuit Court and was given a $500 bond and $2,000 signature bond.
According to the criminal complaint on November 16, 2015 at 3:44 a.m. Caledonia Police were called for an assault in progress. Dispatch had advised the officers that the defendant had bitten the victim drawing blood and had tried to grab kitchen knives but had been stopped.
As officers arrived on scene the defendant exited through a garage and according to reports was acting out of control, being disorderly yelling and screaming. The defendant was taken into custody and officers noticed a strong odor of intoxicants. Test results showed that her blood alcohol level was .30. She was handcuffed and put in the back of a squad car.
According to the complaint a Sergeant with the Caledonia Police remained at the squad with the defendant while other officers interviewed the subjects that were on scene. Officers then hear a loud disturbance with the defendant yelling and the Sgt. calling for assistance. According to reports the defendant was yelling, kicking and screaming and disobeying orders to put her feet back into the squad car. As officers were trying to get the defendant back into the vehicle, she connected her kick with the Sergeant’s face sending him backwards and knocking off his glasses. The kick left a large visible red mark on the officers face.
