On Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 7:00pm officers responded to a home in the 2500 block of Jerome Blvd. for a report of a dog that bit an infant. Upon officers arrival they were met by the grandfather who stated the family dog, a 6 year old American Bulldog Boxer, had bit the one year old in the face and head while the child was playing on the floor. The grandfather had to pry the family dog off of the child’s head.
The child received severe trauma to his head, and was transported to Wheaton Franciscan Emergency, then immediately to Childrens Hospital via Flight For Life.
There will be citations issued to the owner for no vaccination and no dog license to follow.
