Ricardo A Caruso, 60 of Mount Pleasant has been charged with two counts of Resisting or Obstructing an Officer and one count of Disorderly Conduct. He was given a $150.00 cash bond after appearing in Racine Circuit Court
According to the criminal complaint on September 5,2016 Racine Police and Deputies with the Racine County Sheriff’s Office responded to calls for two naked men who appeared intoxicated that had jumped into the lake and were swimming near Reefpoint Marina. Officers with the Racine Police Department had the two parties in custody. While rescue was treating one of the parties for facial injuries, the defendant approached the scene, grabbed the patient stating it was his son. Officers told the defendant to step away from the patient, when he refused officers grabbed the defendant to remove him from the patient so rescue could continue to treat him.
The defendant became tense and upset and continued to interfere with the patients treatment. The defendant allegedly appeared to square his body and clench his fists at an officer. He was then placed into custody where he continued to resist. The defendant was transported to Racine County Jail, where he refused to cooperator and was yelling and swearing at other inmates. The defendant was transported to Wheaton Franciscan All Saints for medical clearance. Upon arrival the defendant was uncooperative and refused to exit the squad car. Medical Staff from the ER had to treat the defendant in the squad vehicle. The defendant was argumentative all the way back to the Racine County Jail, the criminal complaint reads.
Please note the two parties detained by Racine Police have not been named, since they haven’t appeared in Racine Circuit Court on criminal charges
