English Language classes to be offered at the Mount Pleasant Police C.O.P. House

Recently Matt Prochaska, of the Mount Pleasant Police COP House (2237 Mead Street), started a conversation with Racine Literacy Council (RLC) staff to discuss the possibility of providing English Language Learner (ELL) tutoring to individuals in the immediate vicinity. In the coming weeks, outreach will be done to get the word out to community members who would benefit from English conversation classes or tutoring to help with English reading and writing skills. Once the community needs are assessed, Racine Literacy Council will seek the help of community volunteers to provide tutoring to interested individuals.

With a proven record of serving hundreds of adults each year, the Racine Literacy Council is excited about the possibility of extending services to the Mount Pleasant COP House. If you know of someone who could benefit from English tutoring or are interested in becoming a volunteer to help this initiative be a success, please contact Matt Prochaska (mprochaska@mtpleasantwi.gov) or Margarita Fons (mfons@racineliteracy.com) for more information.
Informational meetings will be held on Saturday, November 14th at 9am and on Monday, November 16th at 6pm at 2237 Mead Street.
