Fingerprints lead to charges of burglary & attempted burglary

burglaryDexter D Love, 24 of Racine has been charged with one felony count of Burglary-Building or Dwelling and two felony attempted Burglary-Building or Dwelling . He is being held on $50,000 cash bond and a hold from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. His Preliminary hearing is scheduled on July 20, 2016

According to the criminal complaint, Racine Police responded to a burglary on May 6, 2016 in the 4500 block of 16th Street. Upon arrival officers spoke to the victim who stated when they returned home their house had been broken into, dresser drawers had been emptied and food was on the floor from the freezer. Officers were able to lift latent fingerprints from 9 different locations at the residence which positively matched the defendant.

On May 11, 2016. Racine Police responded to an attempted burglary in the 1100 block of Arthur Ave. Upon arrival officers spoke to the victim who stated that while they were home the noticed a black male attempting to push in screen windows on their residence. The victim struck her kitchen window and the defendant fled. Investigating officers recovered latent fingerprints from the window the suspect had been in and were positively matched the defendants.

On May 25,2016, Racine Police responded to the 1500 block of Grange for an attempted burglary. Upon arrival officers spoke to the victims who stated that when they arrived home they discovered two broken out windows on the back of their home. Officers were able to lift latent fingerprints which were positively matched to the defendants.
