Former Racine Resident publishes memoir on her life in Racine

sherri-jacksonSherri L. Jackson, a former Racine resident and city editor at the Journal Times, has published her memoir and will return to Racine on Saturday, September 10, 2016, for a book signing. Jackson worked at the Journal Times from 1998 to 2004 as an education reporter, assistant city editor and city editor. She also had many community ties including being an associate minister at Zoe Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Melvin D. Hargrove.
This book, Not Built to Break, tells of Sherri’s life of growing up in the home of an alcoholic father, being married to a crack addict and her eventual escaping to Racine, Wis., for restoration and rejuvenation.

Though this is Sherri’s story, it resonates will many who have found themselves trapped in impossible situations. She candidly tells this story about choices, consequences and how they may temporarily sidetrack you from God’s purposes. The book signing will be from 3 to 5 p.m. at Zoe Outreach Ministries, 2130 Racine St., Racine, Wis.
