Husband succumbs to injuries after September 29th accident

MPPD logoMount Pleasant Police Department was informed by Racine County Medical Examiner Michael Payne, of the death of the 2nd pedestrian in this traffic crash occurring on 09-29-2015. On 10-07-2015 at 4:06pm, 74 year old Otto Theuer passed away at Froedtert Trauma Center/Hospital in Wauwatosa, where he had been treated for life threatening injuries sustained in this crash.

Mount Pleasant Police Department wishes to extend our condolences to the Theuer family in this most difficult time.
Investigation is on going at this time with the assistance of the Wisconsin State Patrol Reconstruction Unit. Nothing further at this time.

On Tuesday 09-29-2015 at 3:02pm, Mount Pleasant Police Officers responded to a TrafficCrash involving a vehicle collision with twopedestrians on STH 20, east of Sunnyslope Drive in the Village of Mount Pleasant. One female pedestrian died at the scene, with the male pedestrian transported to Wheaton hospital and transferred by Flight for Life helicopter to Froedtert Lutheran Trauma Center in Wauwatosa.

On Wednesday 09-30- 2015 at approximately 11:45am, Froedtert personnel reported the condition of the male pedestrian as critical condition in theIntensive Care Unit with head trauma.
The identification of the pedestrians involved are as follows:
Deceased at the scene: female identified as 71 year old Ulla Theuer

Injured at the scene/now at Froedtert: male identified as 74 year old Otto Theuer
Otto and Ulla Theuer are husband/wife, and reside in Mount Pleasant.

The operator of the vehicle who isĀ 44 years of age and lives in Mount Pleasant was not injured, and is cooperating with Police. Investigation is on going at this time with the assistance of the WSP Recon Unit.
