Kenosha Police investigate January 4th shooting

kpdOn January 4th, 2016 at 1921 hours, officers from the Kenosha Police Department responded to 65th Street and Sheridan Road in reference to a motor vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle, a 38-year old Beach Park, IL man, was shot in the leg in the area of 47th Street and 37th Avenue. While driving himself to a local hospital, he failed to stop for the stop sign for eastbound traffic at 65th Street and Sheridan Road.

As he traveled through the intersection, he struck two occupied
vehicles and then a tree. The man was transported to Froedtert Hospital for what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Events that led to the shooting are unknown and no other persons reported being injured. The incident remains under investigation.
