Man arrested with 39 grams of crack cocaine

handcuffs Sanford C Mclaughlin, 55 of Racine has been charged with Possess w/Intent-Cocaine (>15-40g) and was given a $25,000 cash bond after making his initial appearance Monday December 28,2015. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 6,2016.

According to the criminal complaint, on December 23, 2015, Racine Police performed a traffic stop on the defendant & vehicle suspected of transporting a large amount of cocaine from Illinois. Officers were able to positively identify both occupants of the vehicle including the defendant through photo ID’s.

As the defendant was being removed from the vehicle, officers noticed that he places his hand in his front pocket. Officers recovered during the search of the defendant: a digital scale, I-pass, loose suspect narcotic drugs, in the defendants right jacket pocket and one large and one medium plastic baggie containing a white chunky material, which appeared to be crack cocaine in his left jacket pocket. The plastic baggies were field tested and tested positive for cocaine. The amount of crack cocaine weighed 39.6 grams.
