Man charged after a stabbing at local restaurant


Alfredo Gutierrez Alfredo M Gutierrez, 23, of Racine has been charged with Substantial Battery-Intend Bodily Harm-Use of a Dangerous Weapon and Disorderly Conduct after an allegedly stabbing on March 8,2016. He was given a $3,000 cash bond after making his initial appearance in Racine Circuit Court. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 17, 2016.

According to the criminal complaint on March 8,2016, Racine Police responded to Wheaten Franciscan/All Saints reference and assault that occurred in the 3900 block of Erie Street. Upon arrival officer found the victim with a stab wound to his rear thigh.

The victim stated he went to Main Moon 3900 Erie to be with his brother after his brother?had been allegedly punched by the defendant the night before while he was working. The victim’s brother had contacted him that evening stating that the defendant was in the restaurant causing problems. When the victim arrived, words were exchanged between the defendant and victim, the defendant stated that he would go to jail to kill the two parties, wanting them to go outside to the parking lot. The victim refused to go outside, the complaint reads.

According to the complaint the defendant began walking toward the victim and witnesses with his hands behind his back when the defendant allegedly pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun and struck the victim in the head and shoulder multiple times. The victim fearing for his safety began struggling with the defendant, which caused the defendant to drop the gun. According to the victim the defendant then pulled out a switchblade type knife and tried to stab the victim in the stomach 3 times missing. During the struggle the victim rolled away from the defendant and raised his leg trying to stop the assault when the defendant stabbed him in the right thigh. The defendant then fled from the scene towards his address.
