Man charged after Deputies find over 2 kilos of cocaine during a traffic stop

antonio avila Antonio Avila Jr 24 of Milwaukee has been charged with Possess w/Intent-Cocaine (>40g). He was given a $100,000 bond after making his initial appearance in Racine Circuit Court Tuesday afternoon. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 30, 2016.

According to the criminal complaint on June 13, 2016. Racine County Sheriff’s Deputies including initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that showed the owner had a suspended drivers license. During the traffic stop the K9 unit with the Racine County Sheriff’s Department assisted. During an open air sniff by the K9 Unit. K9 Friday alerted to drugs being in the vehicle. Deputies recovered a black duffel bag from the trunk of the vehicle and inside were two tightly wrapped packages. Deputies detained the defendant and returned to the patrol┬ástation. According to the complaint the packages weight 1,116.5 grams and 1,129.6 grams for a total of approximately 2246 grams (2.246 kilos) and tested positive for cocaine.
