Man charged after Racine Police execute search warrant and find evidence of stolen identities

Joseph D Jackson, 26 of Chicago has been charged with four felony counts of Misappropriate ID Info – Obtain Money.
He made his initial appearance in Racine Circuit Court Thursday afternoon and was given a $5,000 cash bond, jail records also show that a hold has been placed on him from the Illinois Department of Corrections.

According to the criminal complaint Investigators with the Racine Police Department executed a search warrant to a residence in the 3200 block of Indiana Street. Police located the defendant another party and over twenty items that had combinations of names, dates of birth, social security numbers, bank account numbers and bank account routing numbers. Investigators advised that based on their experience this information is used in identity theft cases.

Investigators asked the defendant about some written information that was found at the location and the defendant stated that they belonged to his brother. Investigators confirmed that the defendants brother had never been to Racine and has passed away last fall, the complaint reads.

During the execution of the search warrant, police located information for four individuals including their dates of birth, social security numbers, phone number and other personal information who had their information stolen after burglaries, and other incidents.

According to the criminal complaint Investigators continue to locate persons associated with information found in the apartment.
