Dwayne Gray, 42 of Racine has been charged with Bail Jumping-Misdemeanor and Disorderly Conduct. He made his initial appearance in Racine Circuit Court on Thursday July 30th and was given a $2,000 cash bond. A Competency hearing has been scheduled for August 11, 2015.
According to the criminal complaint, on July 29,2015 Racine Police responded to a report of a “Male party threatening to stab the caller’s son, he’s got some type of weed wacker on a stick and he’s out there yelling and screaming.
Upon arrival officers spoke to a victim who stated that they believed the defendant was off his medication because he is terrorizing the neighborhood. The victim explained that they were going onto the porch of their home when the defendant started yelling expletives and racial remarks to them from across the street. According to the witness, they said they knew better than to respond.
According to the complaint the defendant continued to yell at the victims, went into his back yard and came back with a long stick with some type of knife on the end of it and came towards them across the street carrying it.
The victim stated she was going to call police at which time she did, the defendant then fled the area on his bike. Officers did locate the item in the defendants back yard which was a branch trimmer. While police were still talking to the victims, the defendant came back to the residence and told police “his neighbors sell drugs and he’s sick of it”. The defendant denied to police that he crossed the street with the branch trimmer. The defendant was arrested on the charge of disorderly conduct with a weapon. His next hearing is August 11, 2015.
According to the criminal complaints the defendant has also been charged with Disorderly Conduct, and Criminal damage to property on July 28th for a previous event in the neighborhood which he also made his initial appearance on July 30,2015
