Man Charged in Connection With Attempted BMO Bank Robbery in June

adam neibauerAdam A Neibauer, 34 of Kansaville has been charged with felony Attempted Robbery of a Financial Institution. He was given a $5,000 cash bond after making his initial appearance in Racine Circuit Courts on Tuesday. According to jail records he is also on a hold from Wisconsin DOC and a bail amount of $250,000 or 10% in Lake County Illinois

According to the criminal complaint on June 20,2016 at 4:20 Racine Police were dispatched to BMO Harris Bank located at 4100 Durand Ave. Upon speaking with employees the defendant allegedly came into the bank with a piece of paper saying he had gotten this in the mail and didn’t understand what it meant. He presented it to the teller and the teller states that it said “This is a robbery, stay calm, do what you normally do and give me all your money”. The teller states there was more writing on the note but she set it down to notify her manager. The defendant without any money grabbed the note and fled the bank.

The defendant allegedly fled to Kenosha where he stole a 2016 Honda Civic after getting in it for a test drive. The defendant then drove the vehicle to Libertyville Illinois where pulled a handgun on the employee and ordered him out of the vehicle stating he had just robbed a bank. The defendant was arrested in Libertyville. Officers were able to recover the note used in the attempted robbery of BMO Harris Bank.
