Man charged in March 14th home invasion and armed robbery


ARMED+ROBBERYMario M Chagoya, 30 of Kenosha has been charged with three counts of Armed Robbery, three counts of false imprisonment, three counts of 1st-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Aggravated Battery-Intend GreatBod. Harm, Burglary-Building or Dwelling and Possess Firearm-Convicted of a Felony. He was given a $50,000 cash bond after making his initial appearance Thursday afternoon in Racine Circuit Courts. He was given a Preliminary hearing on April 13, 2016

According to the criminal complaint, Investigators with the Racine Police Department were assigned to investigate a home invasion armed robbery that occurred on March 14, 2016 in the 21oo block of Fairview Terrace. Investigators spoke with all the victims/witnesses who were in the home when the invasion happened.

According to reports, witnesses/victims state that three individuals armed with guns broke into the home, two of the suspects had black masks covering part of their faces and the third had a black and white bandana over his face. One victim was pistol whipped by the suspect. The suspects then placed the one of the victims in plastic restraints and they were all led to a room, the suspects announcing they were members of the Latin Kings, a street gang.

The suspects stole personal items from victims and ordered that a safe at the residence be opened and $7,000 cash was taken. The suspects threatened to kill all the victims and fired a shot near one of the victims heads into the floor. Witnesses were able to identify the party that had pistol whipped one of the victims The suspects fled the scene and according to witnesses additional gunfire was heard.
