Man charged with attempted 1st degree homicide after firing shots in parking lot

gun2 Dariess D Goss, 21, of Mount Pleasant has been charged with attempted 1st-Degree Intentional Homicide, 1st-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, and Felon Possess Firearm and was given a $200,000 cash bond after making his initial appearance in Racine Circuit Court today.

According to the criminal complaint, Racine Police responded for shots fired March 24, 2015 at 9:40 p.m. for Washington and Packard for shots fired. Upon arrival Racine Police were not able to locate any cooperating witnesses. On March 25th, police were able to locate one witness told officers of hearing four or five shots fired at about 9:40 p.m., according to the criminal complaint. Others reported a verbal altercation between two men outside of Genesis Behavioral Health, 1656 Washington Ave.

Upon investigating Racine Police found theintended victim and he told police he was standing in the parking lot there after a therapy session when Goss fired four or five shots at him, the suspect then ran and got into a waiting red minivan. Officers found three 9mm casings that appeared to be fresh, according to the criminal complaint.
