Nicholas Sabala IV, 18 of Racine has been charged with One count misdeameanor Disorderly Conduct-Hate Crime, one misdemeanor count of Disorderly Conduct-Domestic Abuse Assessments and three counts of Bail Jumping-Misdemeanor and was given a $500 cash bond after appearing in Racine Circuit Courts.
According to the criminal complaint on June 15th at 12:05 a.m. officers with the Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to the Renaissance Theater in Sturtevant Wisconsin reference an unruly party. Upon arrival officers spoke with management who stated that the defendant engaged in a verbal altercation with a group of homosexual patrons. The manager stated that the defendant was using inflammatory words towards the group, then stated he had a “banger” (firearm) in the car.
The complaint states that the manager tried to speak with the defendant to distract him from his behavior but the defendant refused to stop the verbal insults towards the group; the manager then asked the defendant to leave and that the defendant walked away and seemed impaired.
As officers were talking to witnesses they heard someone yell “that’s him”. An employee told officers that the defendant had just chased a female into the restroom. Officers could hear the female screaming, entered the restroom and took the party into custody. The female stated that the defendant drank alcohol before the movie and was upset because he believed a group of male homosexuals were “checking him out”. The defendant got upset again after the movie and chase the female party into the restroom and forced his hand over her mouth to prevent her from screaming.
