Michael Sherrill, 31 of Pleasant Prairie has been charged with 1st Degree Child Sexual Assault – Intercourse with Person under 12 (repeater). Please note he’s being charged as a repeater for prior criminal offenses which he was convicted of (which were not sexual assault charges) He was given a $75,000 cash bond after appearing in Racine Circuit Court Wednesday December 2. According to jail records he is also on a hold from Department of Corrections
According to the criminal complaint, on September 23, 2014, Investigators with the Racine Police Department responded to calls for a sexual assault of a child under 12 years old. The victim stated to authorities that the defendant had touched her in areas that he shouldn’t have after entering her room. The victim went to a relatives room and stayed there until an adult relative arrived, after contacting them with messenger. The criminal complaint states that the victim had said that the defendant was drunk, had entered her room touched her in a bad way and couldn’t walk straight. Once the adult relative arrived on scene the defendant was thrown out of the residence, had denied doing anything to the child but admitted he had been drinking and Racine Police were contacted
Racine Police took the defendant into custody on November 25, 2015. According to documentation, the defendant allegedly told investigators that he was so intoxicated that night he “pissed himself” and could not remember anything.
His Preliminary hearing is scheduled for 12-09-2015
