Many animals seized in Caledonia neglect case up for adoption

These little guys need your help in finding new homes. Last Friday, several Wisconsin Humane Society staff members were called out to assist the Caledonia Police Department with an animal neglect investigation. A total of 24 animals, including birds, small animals and cats, were rescued from terrible living conditions; one of the guinea pigs was found deceased.

There are currently 3 rabbits, 1 chinchilla, 2 love birds, 4 cockatiels, 11 guinea pigs and 2 senior cats in our care, as well as two infant guinea pigs who were born last weekend at the shelter.

We are excited to share that many of the animals are now available for adoption at WHS’s Milwaukee and Ozaukee Campuses! Others remain under observation, including a mommy guinea pig who gave birth at the shelter, as well as her two babies.
