Milwaukee man charged in mobile banking scheme

handcuffsDannie D Harris, of Milwaukee has been charged with felony Fraud Against Financial Institution (Value Exceeds $500 but does not Exceed $10,000). He was given a $5,000 cash bond after making his initial appearance in Racine Circuit Court Tuesday afternoon.

According to the criminal complaint, Mount Pleasant Police Department Investigators responded to Educators Credit Union on 9/21/15 reference a customer making several mobile deposits and then immediate withdrawals using checks that were returned to ECU as “Close Account” “Unable to locate account”.

The complaint states that during the time period of 3/20/15 through 3/27/15 the defendant accrued a negative balance of $2,144.14 as a result of this scheme.
