Quincy D. McCoy, 25 of Milwaukee has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Cocaine/Coca. He was given a $1,000 signature bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 20, 2016.

According to the criminal complaint, on January 12, 2016, Deputies with the Racine County Sheriff’s office were on duty traveling northbound on I-94 approaching KR when they observed a vehicle driving erratically and then pulled onto the shoulder activating the hazard lights. A Deputy pulled up behind the vehicle and identified the defendant as the driver and a pregnant woman was a passenger in the vehicle. The defendant provided a Wisconsin ID card and admitted he had no valid license and stated he pulled over because they ran out of gas (he does admit he didn’t run out of gas)

Due to the below-freezing temperatures, the deputy asked them to sit in the back of his squad. RCSO K9 officer arrived on scene and performed an open air sniff around the vehicle. The K9 indicated that there may be drugs in the vehicle, the complaint states.

Deputies searched the vehicle and recovered .3 grams of crack cocaine and .4 grams of methamphetamine. Both parties in the vehicle waived their miranda right and the pregnant woman passenger allegedly told deputies she had been dating the defendant for two months, but works as a prostitute and was returning home from Chicago where she had been, the complaint states. The woman identified as Shonta Redmond was also charged, and was given a $1,000 signature bond.

The complaint also states that the defendant said the couple had been dating a year and both denied any knowledge of the drugs.
