At 1:23 pm on November 16, 2015 the Racine County Communications Center received a call from a witness to a crash on STH 11 and Hwy J in the Town of Burlington. The crash was reported to involve a grain truck and trailer and a pick up truck.
Deputies responded to find the operators of both vehicles to be injured and one party trapped. Fire and rescue units arrived and found the operator of the pick up truck to have serious injuries. The operator was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Kansasville Fire where he was transported by Flight for Life helicopter to Froedtert hospital. The operator of the grain truck was transported to Froedtert hospital by ambulance.
Initial investigation showed that the pick up truck was southbound on Hwy J when it failed to stop at the stop sign at Sth 11 driving into the path of the grain truck and trailer which was eastbound on Sth 11.
Deputies are still at the scene completing their field investigation and vehicle removal process. Names of the drivers were not available at the time of this release. The crash site and intersection is estimated to be closed until approximately 5:00pm.
