On 07/08/2016 at 1023 am the Racine County Communications Center received multiple cellular 911 calls reporting an accident involving a tractor trailer and a motorcycle on STH 83 at Pine Street. Information provided to Dispatch was that witnesses to the crash, which included an off duty nurse and paramedic were performing CPR on the motorcycle operator, however these attempts were unsuccessful due to his injuries.
Initial investigation of the crash shows the operator of the commercial motor vehicle was driving W/B on the bypass and was attempting to turn South onto Pine St. The operator of the motorcycle, a 56 year old male from Cudahy was driving E/B on the bypass when he collided with the truck. At the time of the crash the traffic signals were working properly and it appears the operator of the truck failed to yield to the right of way of the motorcycle operator.
At the time of this press release, the investigation is ongoing and the names of the operators will not be released and no citations have been issued as of this time.
