Mount Pleasant Police Officer helps save woman’s life

mppd1On 6-26-15 at 8:21pm officers from the Mount Pleasant Police Department, along with the South Shore Fire Department, were dispatched to the 1000 block of Stuart Road in the Village of Mount Pleasant for an elderly female with no pulse and not breathing. An officer arrived one minute after a citizen had already begun administering CPR.

Then, the MPPD officer utilized an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) from his squad to provide a shock which restarted her heart. The female patient’s pulse returned. She was then taken to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital where she was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit.
